Q: What area do you cover?

A: Being the Largest Private Hire firm in London, we cover all surrounding Towns and Villages.

Q: How easy is it to book a car with you?

A: Very easy! You may call us on 020 8567 1234 Fax us, email you’re booking details, use our easy to use Web booker service or you may Text us on 020 8567 1234 We will confirm price, availability and answer any questions.

Q: What type of vehicles do you have?

A: Our fleet consists of Saloon, Estate Cars, MPV's and Minibuses. We can supply vehicles to seat 1 to 16 passengers.

Q: I would like a Taxi now, how long do I have to wait for my Taxi to arrive?

A: If you are calling from local area we can provide a Taxi within 5 to 15 minutes of your call, our experienced staff will inform you at the time of booking.

Q: We are not sure how long a journey will take; will you be able to advise us on the expected journey time?

A: UMBER CARS will advise on expected journey times if requested. However, we cannot be bound by, or be liable for any missed flights/connections (including trains or busses) resulting from any advice given.

Q: I am not sure how to get to my destination; will the driver know the way?

A: All our drivers are given a PDA (Portable Digital Assistant) device, which is loaded with the latest Tom Tom satellite navigation software to assist them with directions.

Q: How long will it take to get to the Airport?

A: Heathrow Airport - 45 minutes

B: Gatwick Airport - 1 Hour 30 minutes

C: Luton Airport - 45 minutes

D: Stansted Airport - 1 Hour 15 minutes

Q: Where do I meet my Driver at the Airport?

A: Our pick up points are in Heathrow Terminal One, Two, Three and Four is the Airport information desk in the arrival hall and in Heathrow Terminal five is the Costa Coffee Shop in the Arrival hall.

Q: What if I cannot locate my Driver?

A: Please call us on 020 8567 1234 and we will track and help locate your driver. All our drivers carry a PDA with integrated GPS.

Q: How can I pay for my journey?

A: You can pay in advance or at the end of your journey. We prefer payment in cash (Stirling) but accept all major credit cards (a card processing fee will be added to the fare).

Q: Can we book our return journey with the Driver?

A: To avoid disappointment, please pre-book your return journey with the office and not the Driver. Airport Express does not encourage private bookings with the Drivers, as these bookings are illegal and are NOT covered by the Driver's insurance.

Q: I have paid for my Taxi in advance, what happens if your Driver does not turn up?

A: Once you make a booking with Airport Express then it is our responsibility to provide you with a Taxi, in the event of a breakdown we will provide you with another vehicle at no additional cost to yourself. We will never leave you stranded and that’s a promise!

Q: Do I need to pay in advance?

A: No. You can pay the driver in cash when you reach your destination. Should you wish to pay in advance, you may do so online using your credit / debit card. We do not keep any of you card details; these are processed by Pay Pal who offers a secure service.

Q: Can I hail one of your Taxis off the street?

A: Our fleet is primarily Private Hire, which means your taxi must be booked and dispatched via our control room. Not only does this ensure that you will be picked up by a proper licensed driver and vehicle but also means that the vehicle is Properly insured. Only London style Black Cabs may be hailed in London.

Q: I left my mobile phone in one of your Taxis, how can I get it back?

A: All lost property found in our Taxis is returned to our office. If you wish to have the item delivered then a taxi fare will be charged. However, any items found are kept in our office for four weeks and if they are not claimed then we hand them into any near police Station.
